this video shows how a laser will be used to cut the watch faces from Sterling Silver. This process is very accurate.
This video clip shows the process used to machine the watch body we have been working on, it uses 32000 volts to erode into the solid block of steel, emersed in a tank of kerosine. the outcome is a dimensional accuracy of 0.01mm. Thats tight!.
We have just made another small step by ordering the first watch face material……sterling silver. gold and platinum are to follow. Our next challenge is to select the first 4 designs. Their are so many factors to consider; detail, longevity, suitability to laser engraving.
This video is from a talk Wayne gave in 2007. He raises some interesting points about sustainable housing.
Northern Soul - This England
A great documentary made by Granada TV in the 1970s on the Wigan Casino and the Northern Soul scene in the industrial heart of Britain.
A long time ago I was given this book by a man much wiser than I. After lending it out many times and hijacking every design conversation to talk about this book, I thought it was time to post a link to the google books page so you can all preview it and order yourselves a full working copy.
The book asks questions about the emotional attachments we have with objects and points out ways to tackle consumerism and the growing desire to buy new objects to fill our lives.

Here is a nice blog from the innovation maniacs at ?whatif!. Well worth a read. They have a lot to say about innovating for business on a big scale. Their recent visit to the Google offices throws up a few ideas.
